Judge Of The Year Nominee

  • Grant Rupp

This quarter we had many individuals step up to wear the stopwatch and get through dogs but there was one individual who was consistently called on to judge this year was Grant Rupp. Grant has been a familiar face at many events the past quarter and has been found to have had a consistent flow of judging assignments this season as well. Join us in thanking Grant for his time and effort this quarter and in congratulating him for his nomination!

Club Of The Year Nominee

  • Capital City Sporting Dogsports Association

Many clubs do so much each quarter to gain new members, provide opportunities to compete, and put on quality events I wish we could nominate all our clubs throughout the year and shine the spotlight on them all for the group effort that goes into each and every club and their events. However, this quarter, the stand-out club was Capital City Dogsports Association. Capital City put on a well-attended event averaging almost 60 dogs a day. On top of hosting shed do events, they also host UKC Nosework events which may be connected to their great participation and may allude to the crossover between the sports. If youre looking for something to do on the rainy days you cant make it to the deer woods, you may want to give Nosework in the living room a shot!

Youth Handler Of The Year Nominee

  • Emma Selby

This young lady has been a force to be reckoned with this season in general but put on a great showing especially this last quarter of the season. She found herself on the podium at all of the events she attended and of all her runs, almost always in first or second place (just barely edging out her brother this quarter for the nomination). Congratulations Emma! Watch out for her at Nationals!

Ambassador Of The Year Nominee

The ambassador of the year is a unique award because there is no metric used to calculate who was the most involved or helpful over the past three months. If somehow, we did quantify this award, we would have a tie between countless people every quarter. This sport is driven forward by the welcoming, respectful, and helpful nature of all the participants. Ambassadors and nominees, past, present, and future should hold themselves to a higher standard and be role models for new and existing members.

  • Jason MacPherson

The nomination of ambassador of the year is an honor in itself due to the fact that it comes about as the result of recognition by ones peers for their contribution to the sport. Within the Elite Shed Dog Series, there are countless individuals who exhibit the poise, positivity, and personality that helps drive this sport forward. From his helpful nature, positive attitude, and never ending support, Jason MacPherson, has earned this quarters nomination. His peers cite how he brings new people in and helps them feel included, shares his knowledge and time with anyone who would like it, and is a great supporter of other success even in the most competitive situations. Congratulations Jason on your nomination and thank you for representing our sport so well!

Dog Of The Year Standings

The Final Top 10 standings for the Dog of the Year categories will be announced at the Shed Dog Nationals Banquet, and later posted online. We look forward to seeing many of you there and congratulating these hard working canines in person!
