Performance Video FAQ's

  • Your dog must be recognizably competing in a UKC-licensed performance or hunting event type. Footage does not have to be from an actual UKC competition, but the event type must be a sport in which UKC offers titles.
  • Your dog's performance may be filmed at home or at an event or training site. It can be a simulation of a real event. (Backyard filming of a small course is okay!)
  • At-home performances can be done with whatever equipment you have on hand. We know access to training equipment can be limited during these times.
  • It is not required that courses meet the exact specifications set in the UKC rulebooks. If your backyard agility course does not have an A-Frame, that's okay - you can still film it and submit it!
  • Videos from past trials or events can be used.
  • Try to film as much of your dog's performance as possible! We understand it could be difficult to capture an entire run in some event types.
  • If your dog competes in a competitive performance event, such as Lure Coursing or Drag Racing, videos of solo runs will be accepted. Precision Coursing, which has been UKC licensed since May 1 2020 is not generally a Total Dog qualifier, however, this event CAN be submitted for the Virtual Premier Total Dog Challenge!

Guided by the belief that dogs make a difference by being the best partner a human can have in the field, on the job, or in a competition event, UKC is a community for people and dogs to pursue excellence together. Founded in 1898, UKC has been dedicated to enhancing the lives of Dogs That Do More, and their owners, by providing essential resources to help owners and breeders make informed decisions. The dog-human bond is celebrated through family-friendly programs highlighting the instincts and heritage of purebred and mixed-breed dogs alike at over 15,000 licensed events annually.
