UKC Coonhound Weekly Bulletin, Edition 34

December 23, 2025

Welcome back to the 33rd Edition of the UKC Coonhound Weekly Bulletin. Last week Trevor Wade mentioned that the bulletin might take a little break through this holiday season of Christmas and New Years.

That was a good assumption on his part, especially since it was his last week at UKC. Yes, you heard right he decided it was time to spend more time at home with his young family, and who would stand in the way of that? I had the privilege of working with Trevor more than anyone else, and I truly appreciated the exceptional skills he brought to the table-skills that elevated the Hunting Ops department and strengthened our programs. He was an asset to the team.

Tribute to Trevor Wade on behalf of UKC Hunting Ops

Trevor Wades' time with UKC has left a lasting mark on the coonhound world. His dedication, professionalism, and genuine care for the sport and its people shone through in the roles he held. Whether working behind the scenes or out in the field, Trevor brought a steady hand and a kind spirit that earned the respect of those who knew him.

During his tenure at UKC, Trevor played a pivotal role in elevating the Tournament of Champions and numerous other coonhound programs. Through his talent for harnessing social media, he transformed event promotion into something dynamic and far-reaching. At the same time, his passion for gathering and sharing historical data added depth to his work, making him a truly invaluable member of the team. Trevor embodied the principle of "putting aces in places", demonstrating how the right talent not only thrives individually but also drives meaningful success for the organization as a whole.

Beyond his work, Trevor's devotion to his family has been evident, and his decision to step away reflects the same integrity he carried in his career. As he begins this new chapter, we celebrate not only what he accomplished for UKC but also the example he set in balancing passion for the sport with love for his family.
On behalf of UKC Hunting Ops and the coonhound community, we thank Trevor for his years of service and wish him, Jenna, Brinley, and Avery much gratification in the days ahead.

Hunting Ops Department Update: New Faces and Changes Ahead

As we move forward following recent leadership changes, the Hunting Ops Department is embracing new opportunities to strengthen the management of our programs and day-to-day operations.

We are pleased to announce that Danielle Champ has officially joined us full-time. Danielle has quickly adapted to our systems and processes, demonstrating confidence and initiative as she takes on her new responsibilities. Her primary focus will be on our show programs, though she will also contribute to many other aspects of the coonhound programs. Working remotely from her home in West Virginia, Danielle will nonetheless be a familiar face at numerous events throughout the year.

She remains committed to supporting the Grand American Committee with their upcoming shows in Orangeburg in just a couple of weeks. Following that, Danielle will represent UKC at the Winter Classic in mid-February, marking the beginning of her expanded role on the road.

In addition to Danielle's appointment, we are finalizing plans to bring another individual into a key role within the department. While this position may look a little different from traditional roles, we are excited about the possibilities it presents and confident it will serve our programs well moving forward. More details will be shared soon.

As noted last week, this bulletin is a condensed version given the holiday season. With that, we extend our warmest wishes to you and your family for a joyous week and a very Merry Christmas!
