Field Dog Stud Book (FDSB) is the oldest purebred dog registry in the United States providing dog owners with authentic documentation, registration, certified pedigrees and DNA services. From 1874 to 2021, the FDSB registry was managed by original publisher the American Field Publishing Company.

On September 1, 2021, UKC announced the official acquisition of Field Dog Stud Book & the American Field Publishing Company.

The historic blending of these registries has been a strategic process. On January 1, 2024, the two registries officially step into the future as one stud book with Dual Privileges offered both retroactively and moving forward.

As of January 1, 2024 there are select breeds eligible to receive pedigrees under the FDSB mark.

Any breed not listed may apply for registration with UKC directly and will receive the appropriate UKC registration package in return. Any dog granted FDSB registration is automatically considered Dual Privileged in UKC and has the full privileges appropriate for its breed.
