This Weekend At UKC National Redbone Days - July 3, 4 and 5 National Redbone Days takes place this weekend in Holmesville, Ohio, sponsored by National Redbone Coonhound Association (a chartered breed association) and hosted by Killbuck Valley Sportsman Association. Three days of fun and coonhound competitions! There will be water races, field trials, a treeing contest, bench shows, an auction, and - of course - the nite hunts, with Purina Points Events on Friday and Saturday. NRCA members are invited to a fellowship dinner on Thursday - please bring a dish to pass. Find an event in your area.

Golden Retriever The Golden Retriever was developed in late 19th century Scotland and England primarily by crossing Flat- and Wavy-coated Retrievers, Tweed Water Spaniels, and a red Setter. The Golden was bred by British aristocrats to be a dual purpose dog, able to retrieve waterfowl and upland game birds and also to be a companion. The Golden Retriever's friendly disposition, attractive appearance, and high level of trainability have made this breed one of the most popular in the United States. The Golden Retriever was recognized by the United Kennel Club in 1956.
