I Want to Register My Litter with UKC
To register a litter of puppies with UKC, you will need to complete and submit a Litter Registration Application. The litter must be registered before it reaches one year of age; otherwise all the dogs from the litter must be single registered by the owner of the dam at the time of breeding, along with written authorization of the owner of the sire at the time of breeding.
What you will need to complete the Litter Registration Application:
1. Sire's registered name and UKC registration number. If you are not the sire owner at the time of breeding, you will need the sire owner's signature. (Sire must be between 8 months and 12 years of age at the time of breeding).
2. Dam's registered name and UKC registration number. If you are not the dam owner at the time of breeding, you will need the dam owner's signature. (Dam must be between 10 months and 10 years of age).
3. Correct breeding date and birth date (normal gestational period is 63 days).
4. Number of living male and female puppies.
5. Litter owner, if different from dam owner.
6. You will need the puppy's name, color, sex, and owner's information, for any puppies that will be permanently registered at the same time the litter is registered.
7. Enclose the correct fees. Litter registration is $20. In addition to the cost of litter registration, permanent registration of pups accompanying the litter registration are as follows:
- 3 Generation Pedigree registration to the breeder $12
- 3 Generation Pedigree registration to new owner $16

The Dogue de Bordeaux is one of the oldest French breeds. Its actual origins are obscure but it is probably descended from one of the strains of Mastiff-type dogs that accompanied Macedonian and Roman armies through Asia, Europe, and Britain. By the middle of the 19th century, the Dogue de Bordeaux was little known outside of Aquitaine where it was used to hunt large animals, such as boar; to fight; to guard homes and cattle; and in the service of butchers. The breed narrowly missed extinction during the two world wars but enjoyed a resurgence in the 1960's. Sometime in the early 1980's, the first Dogue de Bordeaux was imported to the United States. |
