The Dual or Multiple Sired Litter

United Kennel Club understands breeders are continually looking for ways to improve their dogs' hunting, tracking abilities, conformation, etc. With that in mind, UKC allows the intentional mating of more than one sire to a female. For this type of mating or a mating of accidental nature in which one or more sires may have been in contact with a female, DNA profiling is necessary to ensure accuracy of the pedigrees of all pups involved.

In order to properly register a dual or multiple sired litter you will need to do the following:

1) Please purchase a DNA kit for the dam and all suspected sires, you will also need to purchase a kit for each puppy. You may purchase the kit by clicking on the following link: Order DNA Kits

2) Complete and submit a Dual Sired Litter Application, along with items from #3

3) Collect and submit all of the cheek samples according to the directions at this link: How do I collect a DNA sample?

4) Once all dogs and puppies have been successfully profiled, the pup owner will receive a Certificate of DNA-VIP Analysis, a parentage table for each puppy listing the puppy's correct sire and dam. The Dam and Sire owners will also receive a Certificate of DNA analysis for each adult dog profiled.

American Eskimo

Recognized by the United Kennel Club in 1913, the American Eskimo is a member of the ancient and wide ranging Spitz family of dogs. White Spitzes were popular in Pomerania and in the coastal regions of Germany. Sailors traded the white dogs throughout Europe. When Queen Charlotte of England acquired several white Spitzes, the dogs became fashionable among British aristocrats. White Spitzes appear in several Gainsborough paintings. Known as the German Spitz in its homeland, the breed was renamed the American Eskimo in 1917.
