The rules for single registration for the American Leopard Hound are as follows:
1. Completed UKC Application for Coonhound Single Registration
2. Photocopy of the dog's registration certificate from a UKC acknowledged registry. For American Leopard Hounds, we accept the American Leopard Coonhound Breeders Association.
3. Complete three generation pedigree
4. Fees:
- Registration fee of $40.00, made payable to UKC in the form of a check or money order.
- Check or money order in the amount of $5.00 ( non-refundable ), made payable to the American Leopard Breeders Association (ALBA)
4. Inspection or Photos required.
- If an inspection of the dog is provided, a breed inspector may not approve a dog that was produced by a female or male that the inspector owned at the time of breeding. A breed Inspector may not approve a dog he currently owns.
- If sending photographs, please provide three color photographs of the dog. (One photo of each side of the dog, one of the front. All photos must be of the dog in a standing position.)
5. Forward all registration documents, single registration application, photographs and fees to:

6. The ALBA Single Registration Coordinator approves and recommends all applications for registration. Applications that are not approved by the ALBA are not eligible for registration. Denied applicants may contact the ALBA or UKC for reconsideration of their application.

Bulldogs in England were originally working dogs who drove and caught cattle and guarded their masters' property. They were brought by working class immigrants to the American South where they used this all-around working dog for many tasks. By the end of World War II, however, the breed was almost extinct. Mr. John D. Johnson, a returning war veteran, decided to resurrect this breed. The modern American Bulldog continues to serve as an all-purpose working dog; a fearless and steady guard dog; and a loyal family companion. |
