The Hunt Of A Lifetime Foundation: Making Dreams Come True…

Hunt Of A Lifetime is a nonprofit organization based in Harborcreek, Pennsylvania. It is for children with life-threatening illnesses 21 years of age and younger, and it arranges to send the youth on the hunting or fishing trip of their dreams. The organization goes by the verse out of the Bible, Matthew 21-22 “... And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.”
Tina Pattison, Hunt of a Lifetime Foundation President, got the idea for the organization from her son, Matthew, who had Hodgkin’s Disease and was 18 years old at the time. He wanted to go on a moose hunt as his last wish. Unfortunately, Matt’s wish was denied by the Make-A-Wish Foundation, allegedly due to the influence of animal rights activists.
In March of 1998, Don Fetteroff of the Safari Club International chapter in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was able to find Matt a fall Canadian moose hunt where everything was donated. Matt ended up getting a moose with a 55-inch-wide rack. Matt died in April of 1999 at the young age of 19. At the funeral, people were giving the Pattisons money to establish a foundation in Matt’s name. That was when Tina got the idea to start the Hunt of a Lifetime Foundation. In August, the nonprofit organization was formed.
On Christmas Eve, as the Pattison family was preparing for their first holiday without Matthew, Tina asked God to send a sign that she was doing the right thing with this foundation. Then the phone began to ring...

This Weekend At UKC
The Coonhound Department at United Kennel Club is pleased to announce their newest Chartered Breed Association, American Leopard Breeders Association recognized in May of 2008, will be hosting their First Annual American Leopard Hound Days. The event will be held in Sparta, Illinois at the fairgrounds. (More Information).
Also, on this same weekend will be the South Carolina State Championship to be held in Darlington, South Carolina. Both American Leopard Hound Days and the South Carolina State Championship are on the 2010 Purina Series schedule also known as Purina Points Events.(More Information).
