EDIBLE PLAYDOUGHMaterials for Preparation
8 oz. Peanut butter (creamy)
3T. Honey
1C. Non-fat dry milk
Large paper plates
Directions:
1. Children need to have washed hands.
2. Kids receive paper plates.
3. Mix 8oz peanut butter and 3T honey. Add 1 cup dry milk gradually while stirring until the mixture is a dough-like consistency.
4. Use a dog cookie cutter to make dog dough.
5. Note: Before doing this activity make sure that no child is allergic to peanuts. Children may eat after play! |

This Weekend At UKC
UKC is pleased to announce that the running of the 2010 UKC World Squirrel Dog Championship will take place in Franklin, Indiana, and will be hosted by the Johnson County Hound Club. The event date will be Saturday, March 20th. New this year will be last chance qualifying events which will take place on Friday, March 19th and will feature a.m. and p.m. qualifiers. There will also be a World Championship Bench Show which will take place Friday evening. Clubs wishing to conduct qualifying events between now and then are encouraged to call UKC Field Representative Eugene Hill (256) 596-0568 or UKC Field Representative Marty Stanton (812) 343-0958. The immediate ancestor of the Toy Fox Terrier is the larger Smooth Fox Terrier. Owners of these brave little dogs found that the smallest, which they called "runts", were the scrappiest of the bunch. These little dogs were prized for their temperament. Smaller dogs were developed and eventually were found in the seven-pound range. The United Kennel Club began registering the Smooth Fox Terrier in 1912. Between then and the mid-1920's, the Toy Fox Terrier was developed, being a miniature of the previous breed, however they were still registered under the name of Fox Terrier (Smooth). Those dogs appear almost identical to the dogs of today. It was not until February 24, 1936, that U.K.C. began registering the Toy Fox Terrier under its current name. |
