PLAYING DEAD!

Step one is to have your dog sit in front of you. Point your finger like a gun at your dog and say “bang”.

Your dog may just stare at you and think what the heck are you doing. You then take your dog and lay him down nicely and repeat pointing your finger at your dog saying “bang” Let your dog stay in the laying position while telling him "good boy/girl--bang.”

Let your dog up and give him/her a treat and lots of praise. Repeat these steps until your dog plays dead on it’s own. Make sure you make this fun and exciting for your dog praising him/her when doing the motions. Have Fun!

Golden Retriever

The Golden Retriever was developed in late 19th century Scotland and England primarily by crossing Flat- and Wavy-coated Retrievers, Tweed Water Spaniels, and a red Setter. The Golden was bred by British aristocrats to be a dual purpose dog, able to retrieve waterfowl and upland game birds and also to be a companion. The Golden Retriever's friendly disposition, attractive appearance, and high level of trainability have made this breed one of the most popular in the United States. The Golden Retriever was recognized by the United Kennel Club in 1956.
