Job Title: UKC Publications Production Assistant
Hours of Operation: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Hours per Week: 40
Benefits: Life and health insurance, paid vacation, paid holidays, 401(k)
Job Description and Requirements for Production Assistant, for three international publications (two monthly and one bi-monthly). The production schedule for each magazine is two weeks from start to finish.
Requirements:
Punctuality and attendance

Ability to adhere to strict and numerous deadlines
Strong attention to detail
Strong customer service
Positive attitude
Clear communication skills
Strong typing (50-60 words per minute) and computer skills
Ability to multi-task
Experience in the following programs preferred
Quark Xpress and/or Adobe Photoshop (any layout program, InDesign, Pagemaker, etc, is acceptable if enough experience is held).
Microsoft Word
Microsoft Excel
Additional beneficial experience:
AS400
Adobe Acrobat
Distiller
Experience with the following equipment is a necessity:
Photo scanner
fax machine
copy machine
Duties consist of and typically go beyond (applies to all three publications):
Input of advertising information. Inputting is required to be done in a timely manner while paying attention to all pertinent details.
Ad design and compilation of ads
Independent design of logos, bumper stickers and pins for various UKC licensed events
Ability to proofread and adjust grammar and punctuation as necessary.
Take phone calls from customers regarding placing ads, ad design, subscription concerns and article submissions.
Process subscription orders and assist in putting on subscriptions according to specific deadlines in order to complete monthly mailing lists.
Assist Vice President of Media with various projects.

Of the six breeds of UKC registered Coonhounds, only the Plott Hound doesn’t trace its ancestry to the foxhound; and of the breeds, we can be most certain of the Plott’s heritage and the men most responsible for its development.
