Notice to Exhibitors 1. All events are held under the Rules and Regulations of the United Kennel Club, Inc. 2. UKC, its agents and its employees assume no responsibility for any loss, damage, or injury sustained by spectators or by exhibitors and handlers, or to any of their dogs or property, and further assume no responsibility for injury to children not under the control of their parents or guardians. UKC is not responsible for loss, accidents or theft. 3. Absolutely no alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs will be allowed on the grounds or in the buildings on the day of a UKCŪ Licensed event. 4. The “No Smoking” rule will be strictly enforced in all buildings and areas so designated. 5. No unentered dogs allowed on the show/trial event grounds. Note: no dog less than 8 weeks of age may be present on the grounds of a UKC Licensed event. 6. Exhibitors and dog owners are expected and required to clean up after their own dogs. Any person witnessing a violation of this rule must report it to the Event Committee. The Event Committee may ask any person violating this rule to leave the event grounds. No refund will be made if an exhibitor is asked to leave the grounds. 7. UKC will vigorously support any motel that files a complaint about exhibitors who fail to keep their dogs quiet or to clean up after them. In order that the bad conduct of a few exhibitors does not spoil it for the majority of responsible exhibitors, UKC will take strong disciplinary action against any offenders. 8. THE OWNER OR DESIGNATED HANDLER of each dog is solely responsible for having it ready at ringside when its class is to be judged. The host organization, event committee, and superintendent have no obligation or responsibility for providing service through a public address system, r stewards or runners for the purpose of locating dogs that are not brought into the ring when required. 9. Dogs may arrive any time prior to their scheduled time of judging. Dogs not required for further judging will be excused. 10. UKC encourages exhibitors to present their dogs with the least amount of grooming necessary to enable a Judge to properly compare each dog with the standard of its breed. Dogs should be clean, with nails cut to a length suitable for the dog to perform the work for which it was bred, and with clean teeth. The Judge’s determination that this rule has been violated shall be final. UKC enforces rules against artificially altering pigment and coat color, coat texture, and surgical alterations as outlined in the UKCŪ Rules and Regulations. 11. Please remember to turn off cell phones and/or pagers before entering rings. 12. Dogs may not be left unattended when crated in soft mesh crates. No dog may be left in an unlatched or unzippered crate. 13. ATV (4-Wheelers) are prohibited on the grounds of the Kalamazoo County Fairgrounds. 14. Bicyclists please be mindful and courteous of fellow exhibits and dogs on the Event Grounds. Special attention must be paid in traffic areas surrounding the event rings. No Bicycles are allowed in any building. Failure to adhere may result in the expulsion of the Bicyclist from the Event Grounds. 15. Private motorized scooters, golf carts and mopeds must carry appropriate insurance and must not impede the flow of traffic at the event rings etc. 16. Skateboards and roller blades are allowed in the camping area only. 17. No cones or other means to be used to save parking spaces in or about the parking lot or campgrounds. 18. All rights to televise, videotape, advertise, photograph, promote or otherwise exploit the event are vested in United Kennel Club and its assignees. All persons & animals on the event grounds at any time while the shows are in progress do, by attending these shows, grant to the club the right to photograph, televise, videotape, audiotape or otherwise use their likeness & voice in any manner without further release or consent. General Information 1. Building will be open to exhibitors at 7:00 AM Thursday, June 11, 2009. Grounds will be available Thursday morning, June 11, 2009, after 7:00 a.m. Overnight security is not provided. All Times Are Eastern Daylight Savings Time. 2. Please follow the directions of the parking attendants to facilitate an orderly traffic flow through the unloading areas and in the parking areas. Vehicles are allowed a 15 minute unloading time-frame. Violators will be towed. 3. Limited Conformation crating in Hazel Gray building, Agility area (room E) and the Obedience area (Room A.) Additional crating available in Room B. 4. Empty grooming space may not be saved. First come, first served is the rule. 5. No rugs or ground cover mats are allowed on the floor. 6. No exercise pens inside any building. There is ample room for private ex-pens outside. 7. To ensure that we use our inside space efficiently, exhibitors shall be required to stack their crates when crating in the Hazel Gray and Room B Buildings. 8. NO powdering allowed. 9. For conformation, small ring side tables and crates are only allowed at ringside during the judging of a single breed. The event committee may order these tables and crates to be removed at their discretion. Please do not abuse this privilege. 10. There will be absolutely NO SMOKING in all Buildings and designated areas. 11. Admission Fee. Admission - $5 per car per day or $10 per car for a weekend pass (9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.). An Exhibitor Admission pass will be included in your Judging Program. 12. Overnight parking for R.V.’s and camping registration available. Entry Eligibility 1. Dogs must be permanently registered with UKC, have a Temporary Listing (TL) number, or have a Limited Privilege (LP) listing number by the closing date and time in order to enter. No exceptions will be made. Entries for ineligible dogs will be returned. 2. Dogs must meet the eligibility requirements for the activity which they are entering. For requirements, refer to the appropriate activity rules and regulations. 3. An unentered dog will not be substituted for an entered dog. Entry Information & Fees / PRE-ENTRY ONLY. Entries are pre-entry only, no exceptions. 1. PRE-ENTRY Only. Entries are Pre-Entry Only, no exceptions. 2. ENTRIES OPEN March 2, 2009. Any entries received before that date will be returned. Special exception for 2008 All-Star Invitees. See Special Announcement below and on Page 2 of the PREMIER Premium List. 3. SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FOR ALL-STAR INVITEES. Dogs invited to participate in 2008 All-Star competitions may be entered in PREMIER Agility Trials, Obedience Trials and Weight Pulls beginning February 16, 2009. Advanced entry closing date for All-Star Invitees is March 2, 2009. Only dogs that have received invitations for the 2008 All-Star competitions may make use of the advance entry date. All-Star Invitees may only advance enter the class(es) in which they qualify as an All-Star. Advanced entry is available by fax or mail, online entry for this special advance entry is not available. 4. ENTRY DEADLINE (Closing Date.) Entries will be accepted at United Kennel Club until Friday, May 15, 2009, at 4:30 p.m. (Eastern Time) after which time entries shall not be accepted, cancelled or altered (except as noted in the refund section of this Premium List.) Please note: Performance Events will close Friday, May 15, 2009, at 4:30 p.m. (Eastern Time) OR when numerical limit for the event has been reached, after which time entries shall not be accepted, substituted, cancelled or altered (except as noted in the refund section of this Premium List.) No wait lists will be established. No exceptions will be made. Entries received after that time will be returned. 5. Fees: $25 first entry. $20 each additional entry (same day, same dog, same event) made at the same time. Additional entries made at a later time will be charged the first entry fee. No charge for Non-licensed classes and Conformation-Junior Showmanship classes 6. Each dog must be entered on a separate entry form. 7. No conditional entries will be accepted. 8. Due to the large volume of entries coming in at the last minute, any entry missing crucial information or any fax entry missing authorization for us to use your credit card for entry fees may not be contacted and will not be processed.

Faxed entries must be accompanied by a cover sheet stating the number of pages, what shows and how many dogs per show. Visa/Master Card number and expiration date, as well as the printed cardholder’s name and address must be included on the entry form. Visa/MasterCard number, expiration date, cardholder’s name must appear on each entry. A faxed entry must be received in UKC’s offices by the closing date and time and must be fully legible and complete in order for it to be accepted. We will not accept a faxed entry after the closing date and time based on a “Transmission OK” message in the possession of the owner. No exceptions. d. Hand-delivered. Hand-delivered to United Kennel Club. Payment 1. Payment may be made by cash, check, money order, MasterCard or VISA. No entry will be accepted without payment. 2. Make checks and money orders payable to “United Kennel Club, Inc.” Checks and money orders must be payable in U.S. funds. 3. When paying by MasterCard or VISA, entry must include the card number and expiration date, as well as the printed cardholder’s name, address, daytime phone, and signature. Fax numbers and e-mail addresses should be included, when applicable. 4. Post-dated checks, returned checks and declined credit cards do not constitute valid entry fees. UKC will add a collection fee to the amount of each returned check or money order. Exhibitors who repeatedly submit invalid entry fees may be put on a CASH ONLY basis. Entry Confirmation Written confirmation of entries will be made by mail as soon as practicable after the closing date. If you do not receive your confirmation by the Saturday preceding these events, please notify UKC. Cancellations And Refunds 1. ENTRY cancellations or substitutions MUST be received in writing prior to the closing of entries or the closing of the activity, and MUST INCLUDE dog’s UKC NUMBER, breed and name. Cancellations received by telephone are NOT acceptable. SUBSTITUTIONS REQUIRE A NEW COMPLETED ENTRY FORM. 2. No refund of entry fees will be made for entries cancelled after the closing date and time, except in the cases of bitches that come into season and are entered in Agility, Dog Sport, Obedience, Rally Obedience, Terrier Race or Weight Pull events. In those cases, refunds may be obtained by roviding UKC with a veterinarian’s certificate verifying that the bitch came into season after the closing date. The certificate may be mailed, provided the postmark is no later than the date prior to the day of the trial/pull/race, or delivered by hand to the UKC superintendent personnel before the start of the trial/pull/race. 3. Entry fees shall not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian or Judge, or barred from competition by action of Event Committee. 4. If, because of riots, civil disturbances, or other acts beyond the control of the host organization it is impossible to open or to complete a show or trial, no refund of entry fee will be made. 5. Every effort will be made to find all duplicate entries before processing. If a duplicate entry is processed, however, no refund will be made. 6. Entry overpayments may be donated to the general trophy fund. 7. If, in the opinion of the host club, the well being of dogs, exhibitors or spectators is at risk due to extreme weather conditions, such as, but not limited to snow storms, hurricanes, lightning, or extreme heat, the host club may cancel or stop a show or trial before completion. No refunds will be made in such cases. 8. Cancelled entries submitted before the activity close of entries will be charged a $10.00 processing fee. No entries will be refunded after the activity is closed. Class Change/Correction of Entry 1. Owners are responsible for the accuracy of information in the entry forms, regardless of who may make such errors. Owners and exhibitors are responsible for correcting any errors in their entry. 2. Dogs that, according to their owners’ records, have completed the requirements for a title after the closing of entries, may be transferred from the entered class to another class for which they are now eligible, provided that a request for transfer is made in writing to UKC not later than one-half hour prior to the start of any regular judging at the show. 3. All other corrections to entries must be made in writing to UKC using the appropriate form provided not later than one-half hour prior to the start of any regular judging at the show. Armbands One armband will be assigned to each entered dog for all shows and trials in which the dog is entered for the weekend. Armbands will be mailed with the PREMIER Judging Program. If you do not receive your armband prior to the start of judging, please come to the superintendent’s table for a replacement. Event Hours Show and trial judging times will be published in the Premier Judging Program. Event hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. unless otherwise stated in the Judging Program. Scheduling Conflicts For Dogs Competing In Multiple Events 1. Exhibitors are responsible for being available for judging at the scheduled time. 2. Every possible effort will be made to accommodate exhibitors who have dogs entered in multiple events, but Judges are not required to wait for dogs. Exhibitors are advised to pick up their armbands as early as possible and to notify stewards in all rings affected by the conflict so that judges may more easily work around any conflicts. 3. If an Agility, Dog Sport, Obedience, Rally Obedience or Weight Pull exhibitor misses a scheduled judging time, the judge has the discretion to allow that exhibitor to show at the end of the class or mark the dog absent. The Judge’s decision is final. 4. All Star competition and conformation show entry on Friday, June 12, 2009. Exhibitors please be advised that the Agility, Obedience and Weight Pull All Star Invitationals are not required to make allowances or accommodations for dogs and/or handlers entered in the All Star Competition and Conformation on Friday, June 12, 2009. Additionally, a dog entered in the Weight Pull All Star competition will be required to pull with its respective weight class. No conflicts between the Weight Pull All Star competition and conformation or any other activity will be accommodated on Friday, June 12, 2009. While UKC does pride itself in encouraging Total Dog activities, we also recognize the dedication it takes to rank a dog in a specific performance event, and respect a performance specific All Star competition, void of multiple activity conflicts. Special Information For The Belgian Shepherd Dog Breed The UKC Special Judging/Exhibition Procedure for Belgian Shepherds Dogs will be used. The Assisted Animation/Critique Procedure “long-form” method will be used. All rules and regulations for the Assisted Animation/Critique Procedure will be adhered to. All efforts will be made to include the BSD in the group ring. However, the Herding Group competition will not be held up if the Belgian Shepherd Dog Best of Breed is not chosen in time for the group competition. UKC Licensed & Non-Licensed Classes See entry form for licensed classes offered at these events. Conformation Licensed Classes 1. Males judged before Females. 2. Points are awarded to the winners of the following classes offered for UKC Recognized breeds that are eligible for conformation: Puppy, Junior, Senior, Adult, and Breeder/Handler, Best Male of Variety, Best Male, Best Female of Variety, Best Female, and Best of Winners. 3. Please check specific breeds for variety listings. Varieties are noted in parentheses. 4. Junior Showmanship. Junior Showmanship shall consist of the following classes: Pee-Wee. 2 years and under 4 years of age. Sub-Junior. 4 years and under 8 years of age. Junior Classes. 8 years and under 13 years of age.
(b) Open Junior. This class is for any Junior member who has earned a Best Junior Handler award (over an Open Junior) from the Novice Junior class or who has earned three first place wins from the Novice Junior class.

This class is for any Senior member who has earned a Best Junior Handler award (over an Open Senior) from the Junior class, Novice or Open, or who has earned three first place wins from the Novice Senior class. Non-Licensed Classes The following non-licensed classes are offered at these events. When non-licensed classes are offered, they must be run in accordance with the procedures outlined in the current Official UKC Rules and Regulations. 1. Group Competition: The following Groups will be offered: Guardian, Scenthound, Sighthound & Pariah Dog, Gun Dog, Northern, Herding, Terrier, and Companion. Each Group shall include the Best of Breed winners from those breeds assigned to that specific Group in the Official UKC Rules and Regulations. 2. Best in Show: A Best in Show class will be offered, consisting of the 8 winners of the Group classes. Best In Show may be judged by a single judge or a three-judge panel selected by the Event Committee. 3. Reserve Best In Show: After selecting the Best In Show winner, the judge or judges’ panel shall select from the remaining dogs in the class a Reserve Best In Show winner. AGILITY TRIAL 1. Two Trials offered. One Trial each day of Saturday and Sunday. 2. Entry Limit. Entries limited to 150 entries per judge per day. 3. Licensed Classes. All licensed classes offered. DOG SPORT TRIAL 1. Two Trials offered. One Trial each day of Saturday and Sunday. 2. Entry Limit. Entries limited to 35 total entries per trial. 3. Licensed Classes. All licensed classes offered. OBEDIENCE TRIAL 1. Two Trials offered. One Trial each day of Saturday and Sunday. 2. Entry Limit. Entries limited to 55 entries per judge per day. 3. Licensed Classes. All licensed classes offered. RALLY OBEDIENCE TRIAL 1. Two Trials offered. One Trial each day of Saturday and Sunday. 2. Entry Limit. Entries limited to 125 entries per judge per day. 3. Licensed Classes. All licensed classes offered. TERRIER RACE LICENSED CLASSES 1. Two Terrier Races offered. One Race each day of Saturday and Sunday. 2. Entry Limit. No entry limit. 3. Licensed Classes. All Flat Racing and Steeplechase Classes. WEIGHT PULL 1. Entry Limit. Entries limited to 75 dogs per day. 2. Licensed Classes. All weight pull classes. 3. Saturday, June 13, 2009, Wheels, Format A. 4. Sunday, June 14, 2009, Wheels, Format B. 5. Weigh-In. Mandatory Saturday morning weigh-in for all dogs entered in weight pull. Consult the Judging program for time and details. A dog that fails to meet the weight-in time as published in the Judging Program will be marked absent. Conformation & Performance Non-Licensed Class Total Dog Award (offered Saturday, June 13, 2009 only). To be eligible for a “Total Dog” award a dog must: 1. On June 13, 2009, compete in conformation with competition and win one of the following classes: Best Male/Female of Variety, Best Male/Female, Best of Winners, Champion, Grand Champion, Best of Breed, Group 1 through 4 (Note: Group 4 win only counts if there are five or more breeds in the Group class.), Best In Show, or Reserve Best In Show; with special permission from the United Kennel Club the following addition to the existing Total Dog Rules regarding conformation competition requirements for the Champion and Grand Champion classes shall apply solely on Saturday, June 13, 2009: Champion Classes. The following will be granted a competition win:
Reserve Champion win with 3 or more dogs in competition. Champion Award of Merit (AOM) shall count toward competition win when computing a total dog qualifier. The number of Champion Awards of Merit to be awarded shall be calculated as follows:
10-14 dogs in competition – 2 CAOM 15-19 dogs in competition – 3 CAOM 20-24 dogs in competition – 4 CAOM 25-29 dogs in competition – 5 CAOM 30-34 dogs in competition – 6 CAOM 35-40 dogs in competition – 7 CAOM Grand Champion Classes.
