Two UKC Licensed Nite Hunts and Bench Shows

This is an all pre-entry hunt. No nite hunt entries will be taken on the grounds. Advanced entries only! There will be no changing of entries except for death of entry or a female in heat. Papers will be turned in at time of entry change (or for females in heat with a veterinarian’s statement). All entries must be postmarked no later than February 12, 2012.


NITE HUNTS: Two-hour hunts each night. Dogs must be confirmed with proper UKC registration papers by 3 p.m. local time each day. Entry fee: $30. All owners and handlers must be a member of the SETWA, Inc. to win the SETWA, Inc. High Scoring trophy and will be crowned the 2012 SETWA, Inc. Nite Hunt Champion. The SETWA, Inc. Champion must be a Walker dog. Hunting judges will be used on all casts. Anyone entering within a radius of 100 miles will be considered a “guide,” if needed. Refusal to do so will forfeit the entry. 300 pre-entries will be taken each night.


Bench shows will be held on Friday and Saturday

Bench show entries will be taken on the grounds. Entries close at 12 noon Friday & 9 a.m. Saturday. The winners from Friday will be brought back Saturday to show for Overall SETWA Show Champion. Entry Fee $20. Dual Champion class both days and Pairs Class after Saturday Show.

In addition to prize money, Slam winners will also receive dog food courtesy of Purina and Pride. Also, the overall winner
will receive a jacket courtesy of Black Gold Dog Foods. The overall winner will be the dog accumulating the most cast wins
at all three events. In the event of a tie the dog scoring the most total points (cast wins) will be named the winner.


General Information:
No refunds for any reason

Entry change (Female in heat – dead dog) must be in same name as original entry. No dogs unattended on grounds or without adequate food or water • No guns

Unhealthy looking dogs will be asked to leave • All dogs must be able to provide proof of current vaccinations • No pit bulls or any other type of animals on the grounds except hounds.


The Southeastern Treeing Walker Hunt champion will be
determined in the following manner:

1 – Double plus point cast wins
2 – Add scores together – Highest score is SETWA, Inc. Champion

Opposite Sex will be determined in the same manner.

UKC and SETWA, Inc. are not responsible for loss, accidents or theft. Absolutely no alcoholic beverages, gambling, firearms or illegal drugs will be allowed on the grounds or while participating in the hunt or in the buildings the day of a UKC licensed event.

Vendor Information:

All vendors will be charged $150 per spot to set up indoors or outdoors. If you require an indoor spot reserved, please contact Ronnie Mace, 533 Grays Creek Rd, Rutherfordton NC 28139, (828) 248-3803 or (828) 748-8066 for information. All spots must be paid for in advance by February 5, 2012. All spots will be assigned. Make checks out to SETWA, Inc. and send to Ronnie Mace at the address listed above. Fairgrounds will be open Wednesday from 2 - 4 p.m. Outside vendors with tents only. All other vendors will be able to check in Thursday at 10 a.m.

All vendors: This includes supply dealers, stud barn, and trade dog owners. Any vendor that is uncooperative or trying to cause trouble will be asked to leave the grounds.

Trade Dog Vendors will be charged a flat fee of $30 for the weekend.

Campers: Camper hook-ups are not available, but if you do decide to camp on the grounds, you must leave by Sunday morning at 8 a.m. because the gates will be locked at this time.

NOTE: All spaces in the stud barn will be $30 per space. Spaces outside are limited. To reserve a space, call Johnny Lyles, Sr. (301) 253-0708. All spaces will be by advance payment only (certified check or money order). Deadline February 12, 2012. No refunds.

All dog traders will be charged $30 for the weekend. This will be collected daily.

All dog traders must come in at Gate 3 only. This will be enforced.

A parking service will be provided by the Hunters for Youth Association at a charge of $2 a day or $3 per weekend. All parking proceeds will benefit youth programs.
