UKC Rewards Dogs Who Do It All! For more information, contact Tanya Raab at traab@ukcdogs.com March 27, 2009 - The United Kennel Club, Inc. proudly announced today a new program, UKC Activity Rewards Program, to encourage the Total Dog Philosophy and to reward the owners who make this philosophy their goal. Every dog that earns a UKC Championship Title in separate event areas from June 1, 2009 through May 31, 2010 will receive a $25 gift certificate for each new qualifying UKC title earned. Dogs with current UKC titles that earn additional UKC titles in separate event areas during this period will receive a $25 Gift Certificate for each new qualifying title. These Gift Certificates can be used for UKC services including registration, transfers, pedigrees, magazine subscriptions, and entry fees for specified events. “The UKC understands how much time and resources our customers put into their dogs and wanted to find a way to reward them for their contributions to a more versatile and vibrant gene pool. We continue to encourage breeders and owners to strive for titles in multiple event areas to emphasize the great success of our UKC Total Dog philosophy. This UKC approach keeps our events, breeders, and owners focused on dogs that do far more than just look the part”, said UKC President Wayne Cavanaugh. The UKC Activity Reward gift certificates will be mailed along with UKC titles to all UKC registered and LP dogs who qualify. For example, a dog that already has a UKC Agility Title and earns a UKC Conformation Title during the term of the program will receive one $25 gift certificate. Dogs earning a UKC Agility and UKC Conformation Title during the period of the program will receive a $25 Gift Certificate for the second title. New levels of the same UKC Title do not qualify; for example a UKC Nite Champion who earns a UKC Grand Nite Champion Title would not qualify, but a UKC Nite Champion who earns a UKC Water Race or UKC Bench Show Title would qualify. “We believe that everyone wins when breeders set goals of producing more well-rounded dogs. We know that the people who originally created these breeds had more than appearance in mind. When breeding programs are based on dogs that are tested in both the show ring and in the woods, or for obedience and agility for example, selection must be based on healthy athletic stock. This Total Dog philosophy is a salute to those who created these breeds in the past while remaining focused on the long-term future of our dogs,” added Mark Threlfall, UKC Executive VP. Established in 1898, the United Kennel Club is the largest all-breed performance-dog registry in the world, registering dogs from all 50 states and 25 foreign countries. More than 60 percent of its 14,000 annually licensed events are tests of hunting ability, training and instinct. UKC prides itself on its family-oriented, friendly, educational events.
