Entering Dogs In U.K.C. Events

The following types of entries will be accepted at all U.K.C. Licensed Large Pack and Small Pack Events.

1. Dogs Permanently Registered - All dogs permanently registered with United Kennel Club may be entered. The owner/handler must present to the entry taker the dog’s registration certificate (purple or yellow) or U.K.C. "Easy Entry" card. Puppy certificates (green) are temporary certificates and may not be used to enter licensed events.

2. Dogs Pending Final Approval - Those dogs who have applied for single registration but have not yet received papers from United Kennel Club may be entered as “Pending.” The term “Pending” must be used in place of the registration number on all entry forms or reports. Owners/handlers may continue to enter licensed events as pending until they are assigned a registration number and receive permanent papers and “Easy Entry” card from United Kennel Club.

3. Listing Procedure - Owners/handlers may elect to enter dogs which have not yet been submitted for permanent registration. These dogs will be “Listed” and must pay a $3.00 listing fee each time they are entered in a U.K.C. licensed event. Once the dog receives a placement and earns Championship Points at a U.K.C. licensed event, the owner of the dog will have 60 days to apply for single registration in order to retain those points. Championship points earned more than 60 days prior to U.K.C.’s receipt of the single registration application will be voided.

4. It is the owner/handler’s responsibility to complete an official entry form, for each hound to be entered, and to submit form(s) to entry takers.

5. No dog may be entered in a class that is being judged by an individual who has owned, co-owned or handled the dog in question at any time during the previous six months. 6. CLUB MANAGEMENT HAS THE RIGHT TO REFUSE ENTRY TO ANY DOG OR HANDLER. HOWEVER, NO HANDLER SHALL BE BARRED ON BASIS OF RELIGION, RACE, COLOR, NATIONAL ORIGIN, AGE OR SEX.
