UKC Policy Regarding Cell Phone Usage
Effective January 1, 2007

Effective January 1, 2007 cell phone usage pertaining to the UKC licensed event on any Beagle (Hunting Beagle and Performance Pack) cast will be strictly prohibited. Any communication between event participants or their spectators via cell phone will be treated as a
misconduct and dealt with by the Disciplinary Action
Committee at United Kennel Club.

The reason for this new strict policy is to protect the integrity of the event, the program and the titles that are awarded. We strongly encourage all people to leave their cell phones in the vehicle or to turn them off while participating in the event. Cell phones are disruptive to the cast and there is no valid reason to use one during the cast.

We understand that there are people who have medical conditions that require them to carry a cell phone for emergency situations that may arise. We also understand that cell phones are needed to talk to landowners to get permission to go on their land. This is why we have strongly encouraged people to leave them in the vehicle rather than making it mandatory. Furthermore, no questions may be called into any Master of Hounds at any time. Remember, you are responsible for the conduct of your spectators and the same rules and disciplinary action will apply to them as well as you.
