UKC Hunting Beagle National Championship

The UKC Hunting Beagle National Championship brings together the outstanding Hunting Beagles and handlers from the United States and Canada to participate in the Hunting Beagle Program’s largest Hunt and Bench Show. This prestigious two-day event is directly sponsored by United Kennel Club, Inc. The location is carefully selected on the basis of a club or clubs that can supply qualified Judges, good hunting territory, guides, and a facility to accommodate the hundreds that attend. The National Championship is a family affair and an event where old friends become
reacquainted and new ones are made.
HUNT RULES:
1. Advanced entries only. All entries must be postmarked by the advertised advanced entry deadline. No hunt entries will be taken on the grounds. A confirmation will be mailed to all entrants confirming entry.
2. If a female that is entered comes in heat, another dog may be substituted that is registered to the same individual. No refunds.
If a dog that is entered dies, the Registration Certificate may be turned in at the UKC registration desk. Another dog may be substituted if it is registered to the same individual or a refund may be requested. If a dog that is entered is injured and cannot hunt, the owner must present a letter from a veterinarian on veterinary stationery and another dog may be substituted, if it is registered to the same individual. No refunds.
3. Entries must be confirmed at the UKC registration desk by the advertised deadline on the morning scheduled to hunt.
4. All hounds must be UKC registered by the advanced entry deadline. It will be acceptable for single registration applications to accompany the advanced entry application.
*5. All registered hounds will be run on Saturday. All Hunting Beagle Champions and Grand Hunting Beagle Champions will be run on Sunday. On Saturday afternoon, the 16 highest scoring plus point cast winners from Saturday morning will be divided into four casts. Cast times will be determined the day of the hunt. Each of the four cast winners will advance to Sunday regardless of whether plus points are scored. On Sunday, the top four Registered dogs will run in a two-hour Winners Pack to determine the National Champion Registered Dog. On Sunday afternoon
the top four Hunting Beagle Champion plus point cast winners will compete in a Hunting Beagle Champion Winners Pack to determine the National Hunting Beagle Champion. On Sunday afternoon the top four Grand Hunting Beagle Champion plus point cast winners will compete in a Grand Hunting Beagle Champion Winners Pack to determine the National Grand Hunting Beagle Champion.
6. Special awards and National recognition for: first ten places registered, first three places Hunting Beagle Champion, and first place Grand Hunting Beagle Champion.
