Performance Program - Raisen Cain in Alabama!

UKC Performance Program - Owners Earl Phillips & Randy Quinn of Sumiton, Alabama are on a serious hot streak with their young Black & Tan male CH NITECH 'PR' Cypress Creek's Raisen Cane. Cane is a perfect example of a Permanently Nominated hound going after a Grand title. The only difference may be where Cane has started much younger than most. He started his nite hunt career this year and already earned his Nite Champion degree two days before his first birthday! According to UKC official records to date, all his wins came right in his home state currently lacking only one more win for a Grand Nite Degree. Cane's impressive hunt record in 2008 has also earned him a grand total of 6.2 Performance points as of UKC records today. (His fourth Nite Champion win had not yet been processed at the time of the latest Performance update below.) As you can see Cane has also earned more Performance points than any other hound in 2008 thus far. UKC would like to extend a big "atta boy" to Earl Phillips and Randy Quinn on what has already been a great year for them. In the outreaches of Owatonna, Minnesota, you can often hear the sounds of late night barks emerge from the woods, while the owner of the coonhounds contently listens to the track unfold. The track barks fade and soon the Walker hounds have fallen treed deep in the timber, and without a doubt, they have the coon. Making his way to the hounds is their owner, 16-year-old Brandon Becker, who spends many nights like this in the woods with his hounds - nearly every night in the week, he says.

This Weekend At UKC

Bluetick Days Robinson, Illinois - The nation’s largest UKC Bluetick event for six years running, National Bluetick Days will gather Bluetick Coonhound fanciers in Palestine, Illinois from May 15 to 17. Sponsored by the Bluetick Breeders of America, a UKC Chartered Breed Association, and hosted by the Wabash Valley CHC, the event kicks off Thursday and will feature coonhound nite hunts and bench shows, with Purina Points events Friday and Saturday.
