UKC World Squirrel Dog Championship
February 22-23, ‘08
Edgefield, SC

The first UKC World Squirrel Dog Championship accomplished exactly what we hoped it would. We named two deserving World Champions and received lots of feedback about the UKC squirrel dog program. UKC would like to thank all those that participated in the event. The list of qualified dogs in attendance was certainly not lacking in quality. We would like to thank the Red Hill Houndsman Association and particularly Wayne and Joy Agner for all the planning and preparation in hosting the event. We would like to thank our sponsors for this event; Black Gold Dog Food, Tri-Tronics and Owen’s Manufacturing Diamond Deluxe Dog Boxes. We would also like to thank Eugene Hill, UKC’s Cur / Feist Manager for his expertise not only in conducting this event but in guiding this program throughout the year. Event results are as follows:

About the UKC Cur-Feist Program

Performance Events tailored for the Cur and Feist breeds are based upon treeing game. The Cur / Feist Program actually offers three different performance events for evaluating these hard working tree dogs. The most popular of the events offered is the licensed Squirrel Hunt. At a typical licensed squirrel hunt, three dogs are randomly drawn into a group (called a cast) to hunt against each other....
