The UKC Coonhound World Show Championship is a special event.  Qualifying takes place throughout the year from one end of the country to the other as hopeful handlers attempt to earn their ticket to the World Championship Finals.  From that field of eligible hounds, the top twenty five percent will typically enter the World Championship Finals.  It’s not our largest show of the year but it is perhaps the most competitive and the most sought after UKC show title is up for grabs.  To say it requires excellent Judging is an understatement.

Jeff Koons is a Plott Hound enthusiast from Glouster, Ohio.  In addition to State and Breed event assignments Jeff has Autumn Oaks and Beagle World Championship notches to his credit.  Jeff’s job at the World will be the first round judging in which he will narrow a field of 150+ down to 14.  Jeff brings experience, knowledge and an unquestionable sense of fairness to the table and we are glad to have him on board for this event.

Dr. David Birdsall of Gloucester, Virginia, will have the responsibility of naming a new World Show Champion from the finalists that he is given to evaluate.  Dr. Birdsall has previously judged the UKC Winter Classic, Autumn Oaks and first round at the UKC World.  He is well deserving of an opportunity to select the next World Champion and we are looking forward to watching him work.
