2008 Coonhound Rule Change Proposals | |
PROPOSAL 1
Change Rule 6(k) to read:
In casts hunting under Nite Champion rules, dog is scratched for running, treeing or molesting off game during hunting time (including time outs) but not after hunting time. TWBFA
PROPOSAL 2
Replace current Rule 3(d) with:
Dogs that are shut out (not struck before first dog is declared treed) must still be declared struck. They are eligible for tree points if they are declared treed within the five minutes. If they are at declared treed when Judge arrives, strike points are deleted. For all other situations, they are accountable for their strike points. UEBFA
PROPOSAL 3
Add Rule 4(k) and clarify Rule 11 to say:
Any dog treed after 5 minutes and tree is closed, call will be accepted as a split tree. If dog is on closed tree, points will be minused. UEBFA
PROPOSAL 4
Delete that portion of Rule 11 which states, “However, if dog(s) are already tree, do not release any dogs. Replace it with:
Handler(s) have the option to release dog(s) if dog(s) are declared treed as long as at least one dog is holding track open. UEBFA
PROPOSAL 5
Water Race & Field Trial Running Rule 1a :
Change number of dogs per heat to a maximum of four. NRCA
This would help eliminate some of the issues at tree when there’s up to six dogs beatin’ and bangin’ looking at the game under the current format. In addition, it’s a spectator sport that many feel would add even more excitement with more heats under the proposed format and might hopefully draw even more attention and entries because of it. Too many would-be participants will not enter citing to many tree issues when there’s that many dogs at tree at the same time. NRCA
PROPOSAL 6
Policy Change:
Allow walkie-talkie or two-way radio to be used by handler and judge in order for disabled person to call their dog. Disabled person will have proxy to physically handle their dog and search trees. Disabled person will have to obtain documented permission from UKC for this privilege. UEBFA
PROPOSAL 7
Policy Change:
When there is an entry of more than sixty Nite Champions in a hunt there will be five Nite Champion wins awarded. TWBFA
PROPOSAL 8
Delete the requirement that split trees need to be 15 minutes apart before time out may be called. Rule 8(i) to now read:
Time out may be called to go from one split tree to another if all dogs are declared treed. If dog leaves tree and goes back on trail, time in continues.
