HISTORY
The Great Anglo-Francais White and Orange Hound (Grand Anglo-Francais Blanc et Orange) was recognized by the United Kennel Club in 2006.
GENERAL APPEARANCE
A strong and powerful dog that shows more English influence in his head than his White and Black cousin.
HEAD
Quite short and broad.
SKULL - Rather broad and flat, without occipital protuberance. The superciliary arches are not prominent. The stop is well marked.
MUZZLE - The muzzle is fairly short. The lips extend over the lower jaw and give the muzzle some squareness.
TEETH - The Great Anglo-Francais White and Orange Hound has a complete set of evenly spaced, white teeth meeting in a scissors bite.
Faults: Undershot or overshot bite.
NOSE - Black or orange brown.
Fault: Butterfly nose.
EYES - Large and dark.
Fault: Light eyes.
EARS - Set on at eye level, broad at the base, and rather short. The ears are quite thick and turn in slightly.
NECK
The neck is straight, with a slight dewlap.
Fault: Excessive dewlap.
FOREQUARTERS
The shoulders are close to the chest, but well muscled.
FORELEGS - Well apart, strong and vertical.
BODY
The chest is deep. The ribs are long and lightly sprung. The back is broad and muscular. The loin is broad and short, and the croup is rounded. The flank is well filled.
HINDQUARTERS
The thighs are muscular and fleshy. The hocks are slightly bent and close to the ground.
FEET
The feet are rather round.
TAIL
The tail is quite long, and has a slight brush.
COAT
COLOR
White and lemon, or white and orange, but the orange must not tend towards red.
Fault: Black or red hair in the coat.
HEIGHT
Height at the withers is 23.5 to 27.5 inches.
GAIT
DISQUALIFICATIONS
Unilateral or bilateral cryptorchid. Viciousness or extreme shyness. Albinism.

The Golden was bred by British aristocrats to be a dual purpose dog, able to retrieve waterfowl and upland game birds and also to be a companion. The Golden Retriever's friendly disposition, attractive appearance, and high level of trainability have made this breed one of the most popular in the United States.
