Scott, Charles #6991

Breed(s):
Italian Greyhound, Pugs, and Brussels Griffons

How long have you been a UKC judge?
I have been a UKC judges for about 3 years.

Are you a breeder / how long have you been breeding dogs?
I have been a breeder of Italian Greyhounds, Brussels Griffons, Pugs, Whippets, Afghan Hounds and Chihuahuas along with a variety of other breeds for about 40 years.

How long have you been involved with dogs? (Conformation/Performance)
I began showing dogs 40 years ago with Italian Greyhounds and have handled almost all the Toy and several Hound breeds

In 100 words or less, how did you become involved with dogs? Conformation/Performance events)
In 1973 my partner, Timothy Catterson, and I began showing our Italian Greyhounds and spent nearly every weekend traveling to shows and specialties showing. We began handling for others and by 1985 I applied for my first AKC judging license. It took about 10 years to finish the Toy group and since then I have added Afghan Hounds, Whippets, and Greyhounds to my list of breeds I am able to judge for the AKC. I enjoy judging dog shows and take the job of rewarding the most correct dog for that breed, VERY serious. After all we have the responsibility of keeping the breeds as they have been for the hundreds of years they have been around.

In 100 words or less, what do you feel is your biggest accomplishment with your dog(s)? (Conformation/Performance events)
My accomplishments in judging come in small increments and come often. Just being able to travel to all parts of the world and see the specimens that the hard working exhibitors bring to me is quite an accomplishment in itself. I had the opportunity to judge the Eukanuba dog show in Florida in December 2012 if you ever get the opportunity to do so please do not say NO.
