Olson, Lew #6934

Breed(s):
I started in Dobermans in 1974, Black and Tan Coonhounds in 1976, then
Rottweilers in 1979, and I currently have Rottweilers and one Brussels Griffon.

How long have you been a UKC judge?
I have been judging for UKC for about 3 years.

Are you a breeder / how long have you been breeding dogs?
I raised my first Rottweiler litter in 1990 and have bred about 35 Champions.

How long have you been involved with dogs? (Conformation/Performance)
I started showing dogs in 1974 in conformation and obedience and UKC Bench shows in 1976 with the Black and Tan Coonhounds.

What events, if any, do you participate in other than the event type in which you are Judging?
I have also been active in for tracking and agility.

In 100 words or less, how did you become involved with dogs? Conformation/Performance events)
In 1974, I entered my Doberman Pincher in obedience and got high scoring Doberman. I was hooked and haven't stopped showing dogs since. I joined the local Kennel Club and I have continued to be active in dogs clubs, dog show committees, showing dogs and helping with the local 4H group.

In 100 words or less, what do you feel is your biggest accomplishment with your dog(s)? (Conformation/Performance events)
While I am proud of owning 2 Best in Show Rottweilers and owner handled many dogs for their championships and companion dog titles, probably my 2 biggest accomplishments have been being involved in the rescue and re-homing of 144 Rottweilers during Hurricane Katrina and 200 Rottweilers from an abusive puppy mill situation in Texas.
