Jones, Lorelle #6590

Breed(s):
I am currently owned by two German Shepherd Dogs. Previously I have trained, titled and loved a Rottweiler, a Shiloh Shepherd and a Standard Poodle.

How long have you been a UKC judge?
9 years

How long have you been involved with dogs? (Conformation/Performance)
I attended my first training class in 1997, earned my first CD in 1998

What events, if any, do you participate in other than the event type in which you are Judging?
I participate in Rally and Obedience in multiple venues (UKC, AKC, Canadian, APDT)

In 100 words or less, how did you become involved with dogs? Conformation/Performance events)
In 1997, I was required by my contract to take my new Rottweiler puppy through at least one obedience class. During that class, I fell in love with the idea of training and competing in Obedience. When that class ended, I found a trainer who would take us, and 15 years later, I still train with her.

In 100 words or less, what do you feel is your biggest accomplishment with your dog(s)? (Conformation/Performance events)
For me, the biggest accomplishment is with the sport, not with my own dogs. I was instrumental in founding a UKC Obedience Club in our area. This provided everyone with another opportunity to compete in UKC Obedience (and now Rally Obedience). Founding the K9 Sports Club helped the sport to grow in our area, and later I could continue to give back by judging and by encouraging new participants. These are far more significant accomplishments than any titles my dogs and I have earned. (OK, I'm also pretty proud of earning three UUDs, and a UOCH)
