01/03/2013: UKC currently has two different formats for the running of licensed events. The differing procedures for running these two formats can be found in their entirety in the Official UKC Cur & Feist Rulebook.
12/03/2012: We have some changes to announce this year, so this month’s column will be dedicated to that. In fact, the only thing that is not changing will be the date, so mark your calendars for March 9 and 10. The ads for this event will start running next month so be sure to watch for those ads for entry forms and complete details.
11/09/2012: I would like to give you two things to think about this month. Are we asking enough of these dogs? And do the rules permit handlers to play too many games? With rule changes coming in the near future, these are some of the things we have been thinking about lately.
09/06/2012: This won’t be news to anybody, but I need to say it. Shoot, I’ve been told this a hundred times and though I never doubted for a minute that it was anything but the truth, I guess you try not to think about it. I’m talking about letting someone know that you care about them because you never know if and when you will see them again. Two very different situations drove that point home for me in the last couple weeks. I don’t think I’ll ever forget it. I hope I do a better job practicing it.
06/29/2012: The first thing we need to do this month is send an apology out to all those who placed in the UKC Squirrel Dog World Championship. A little mix-up last month resulted in my column featuring the UKC World Hunt running in Full Cry, but unfortunately the photospread featuring the winners did not appear. I am very sorry about that, and I have been assured they will run this month. Thanks, again, to all those who attended and congrats to those of you who placed. It was an excellent event.
