Performance Sire Nomination
To be eligible for Performance Sire status during any calendar year (January 1 through December 31), a dog must be:
    · Any male Coonhound permanently registered with UKC;
    · DNA profiled and on record with UKC;
    · Nominated for the UKC Performance Sire Program during that calendar year.

Performance Sires may be nominated anytime during the calendar year for which they are applying by paying the appropriate Performance Sire Nomination fee in accordance with the Performance Sire Nomination Fee Schedule listed below. A list of nominated Performance Sires will be published monthly by UKC in Coonhound Bloodlines. Performance Sire status is not permanent and must be updated annually to ensure eligibility in the program.

To be eligible for Performance Sire status, a dog must be permanently registered and a DNA Profile must be on record with UKC. Sire nominations received that do not show the dog as being DNA Profiled will be considered as “pending”. The nomination will not be complete until the DNA Profile has been recorded in the UKC database. If the sire is not DNA Profiled or pending DNA results you will be notified and sent a complimentary DNA Kit. A DNA sample must be postmarked and returned to UKC within 30 days of being notified. If 30 days pass and the DNA sample has not been received, the increased nomination fees will apply with each passing deadline.
For example; if you submit your Sire Nomination on December 12th, a DNA sample must be postmarked and en route to UKC within 30 days from the date of the notification. If you pass 30 days, the nomination fee increases by $100 as you have passed the December 31st cutoff. If you have not postmarked your DNA sample by July 1st, the nomination fee increases by $200.

UKC reserves the right to deny any Performance Sire Nomination if the nomination fee submitted is less than the amount due in accordance with the Performance Sire Nomination Fee Schedule listed below. Individuals who submit a Performance Sire Nomination with insufficient payment shall be notified by mail and/or email and given 30 days to pay the balance. If payment is received within 30 days of notification, the Performance Sire Nomination will be granted to the dog in question as of the date that the nomination was originally received by UKC. If the complete payment is not postmarked within 30 days, late fees will be assessed with each passing deadline.

Once a Performance Sire is nominated into the Performance Program, no portion of the nomination fee is refundable, except in the case of a Performance Sire that dies without producing a UKC-registered litter during the calendar year for which he was nominated. In order to receive a refund for the Performance Sire nomination fee in this instance you must;
    · return the original UKC Registration Certificate for the nominated sire to UKC;
    · mark the Registration Certificate as “deceased”;
    · indicate the date of death;
    · include a written request for a refund of the Performance Sire Nomination fee;
    · Make sure the statement is signed by the registrant(s)/Signatory.

If the paperwork cannot be returned to the UKC a notarized statement that the dog is deceased along with the date of death and the Registrant(s)/Signatory’s signature must be provided with the refund request for the Sire Nomination fee. Refunds will only be issued after the close of the calendar year. No refunds will be issued to Pending Performance Sires unless the dog dies within the calendar year for which he was being nominated without producing any offspring.

Performance Sire fees may not be transferred to another dog.

Performance Sire Nomination Deadline and Fee Schedule
    · If a Performance Sire nomination is postmarked before January 1st of the nomination year the nomination fee is $100.
    · If a Performance Sire nomination is postmarked on or after January 1st through June 30th of the nomination year, the nomination fee is $200.
    · If a Performance Sire nomination is postmarked on or after July 1st through December 31st of the nomination year, the nomination fee is $300.

Litter Nomination
Once a female whelps a litter sired by a Performance Nominated Sire, the breeder, the litter registrant/owner, or any other individual, may nominate the litter for the Performance Program by paying the appropriate Litter Nomination fee in accordance with the Litter Nomination Fee Schedule listed below. The litter must be UKC registered in order to nominate the litter. Once the litter is registered and nominated one Application for Permanent Nomination for each puppy in the litter will be mailed to the litter owner. The litter must be registered and nominated before the litter turns one year of age.

Litters cannot be nominated while their sire is pending DNA. The actual DNA profile must be completed and on record at UKC before any Litter Nomination fees will be accepted. The dam is NOT required to be DNA profiled, but it is highly recommended.

Litter Nomination and Permanent Nominations at the time of Litter Registration

Litter Nomination and Permanent Nominations of all pups in an eligible litter may be requested at the same time you submit the Litter Registration Application. The pups are not required to be permanently registered at this time but they will need to be permanently registered before they may compete in any UKC events for Performance Points.

For a fee of $150 the breeder, litter registrant/owner, or any other individual may Litter Nominate and Permanently Nominate all the pups in the litter for the Performance Program. The litter application must be postmarked on or before the litter turns six months of age. The pups do not have to be permanently registered at this time but they will need to be permanently registered before they may compete in any UKC events for Performance Points. The litter owner will be supplied with one Application for Permanent Registration for each pup in the litter which will reflect that the Permanent Nomination Status has been paid up.

UKC reserves the right to deny any Litter Nomination if the nomination fee submitted is less than the amount due in accordance with the Litter Nomination Fee Schedule listed below. Individuals who submit a Litter Nomination with insufficient payment will be notified by mail. If the payment is postmarked on or before the pups turn six months of age, the Litter Nomination will take effect as of the date that it was originally received. If the additional fee is postmarked after the pups turn six months of age, the Litter Nomination Fee will increase according to the Litter Nomination Fee Schedule listed below. If the additional fee is postmarked on or before the pups turn one year of age the Litter Nomination will take effect as of the date that it was originally received. If the additional fee is not postmarked on or before the pups turn one year of age, the nomination and all fees already paid toward the Litter Nomination will be forfeited.

Litter Nomination Deadlines and Fee Schedule
    · If the Litter Nomination is postmarked on or before the litter is six months of age, the Litter Nomination fee is $30.
    · If the Litter Nomination is postmarked after the litter is six months of age, but on or before the litter turns one year of age, the Litter Nomination fee is $50.
    · Litter Nomination with all pups being Permanently Nominated at time of Litter Registration is $150. Application must be postmarked on or before the litter turns six months of age.

Permanent Nomination
The registrant(s)/Signatory or any other individual may Permanently Nominate an eligible dog on or before the dog reaches one year of age by paying the appropriate Permanent Nomination fee in accordance with the Permanent Nomination Fee Schedule listed below.

UKC reserves the right to deny any Permanent Nomination if the nomination fee submitted is less than the amount due in accordance with the Permanent Nomination Fee Schedule listed below. Individuals who submit a Permanent Nomination with insufficient payment will be notified by mail and or email. If the payment is received or postmarked on or before the dog turns six months of age, the Permanent Nomination will take effect as of the date that it was originally received. If the additional fee is postmarked after the dog turns six months of age, the Permanent Nomination fee will increase according to the Permanent Nomination Fee Schedule listed below. If the additional fee is postmarked on or before the dog turns one year of age the Permanent Nomination will take effect as of the date that it was originally received. If the additional fee is not postmarked on or before the dog turns one year of age, the nomination and all fees already paid toward the Permanent Nomination will be forfeited and the dog will no longer be eligible for Permanent Nomination.

The dog must be permanently registered in order for the permanent nomination to be completed with the exception of the litter owner who may nominate the litter and all the pups at the time of litter registration. The Application for Permanent Registration should always be forwarded with the Application for Permanent Nomination.

Once a dog is Permanently Nominated it is then eligible to earn Performance Points.
Dogs are not eligible to earn Performance Points on a pending nomination.

Once a dog is Permanently Nominated into the Performance Program, no portion of the nomination fee is refundable. No dog may be Permanently Nominated after one year of age.

A Permanently Nominated dog is not required to be DNA profiled but it is highly recommended.

Permanent Nomination Deadlines and Fee Schedule
    · If the Permanent Nomination is postmarked on or before the dog is six months of age the nomination fee is $30.
    · If the Permanent Nomination if postmarked after the dog is six months of age, but on or before one year of age, the nomination fee is $100.

Determination of Dates
The Sire, Litter, and Permanent Nominations become effective on the date they are received by UKC. The postmark date will be used to determine eligibility and the nomination fee owed in accordance with the appropriate fee schedule for the Sire, Litter, and Permanent Nominations.

The date the nomination is received by UKC will also be used to determine the owner(s)/Signatory of the dog on record.

Fees
    · All fees must be payable in US Funds.
    · A fee of $30 will be assessed for checks returned to UKC as unpaid for any reason. No further business will be conducted with UKC until the check and fee(s) are paid. Payment should be in the form of a money order, MasterCard, or Visa.
    · Performance Program Payout Checks earned by an individual(s) with an outstanding balance due to UKC will be held until the outstanding balance has been settled.
    · All payout money will be made in US Funds.

How to Earn Performance Points
Every Coonhound that is Permanently Nominated in the Performance Program is eligible to earn Performance Points at UKC Licensed Nite Hunts in accordance with the chart below. Performance Points will not be awarded at events where all categories hunt together, such as RQE’s, Mini Slams, and Youth Events. A maximum of two Performance Points may be earned at a single licensed hunt.

A placement in the top three Registered dogs, first place Nite Champion, or first place Grand Nite Champion, will earn Performance Points.

First and second place points are awarded at events with 21 or more Nite Champion or Grand Nite Champion entrants. First, second, and third place points are awarded at events with 41 or more Nite Champion or Grand Nite Champion entrants.

Premium Money
All fees collected during the calendar year from Performance Sire Nominations, Litter Nominations, and Permanent Nominations constitute the Performance Program Fund. UKC may deduct the accumulated cost of administering the Performance Program (not to exceed 10%) from the gross proceeds.

Payout of Premium Money
At the end of the calendar year, UKC will calculate the value of a single Performance Point by dividing the total amount of Premium Money by the total number of Performance Points earned by all eligible Coonhounds during the calendar year. UKC will pay the following percentages from the Performance Program Fund:
    1. The Registrant(s)/Signatory of a Performance Sire as recorded by UKC at the time the litter was bred receives 10% of the value of all Performance Points earned by eligible Coonhounds sired by that Performance Sire during the nomination year. In the case of frozen semen, the 10% would go to the owner of the semen as recorded by UKC.
    2. The Registrant(s)/Signatory of a litter as recorded by UKC will receive 10% of the value of all Performance Points earned by eligible Coonhounds from the nominated litter during that calendar year. The litter owner is defined as the individual(s) listed as such on the litter application. This individual(s) may be different than the owner of the dam at the time of breeding.
    3. The Registrant(s)/Signatory of a Permanently Nominated dog as recorded by UKC at the time the points were earned receives 80% of the value of all Performance Points earned by eligible Coonhounds during that calendar year. The date the registration papers are received by UKC will be used to determine the owner of the dog on record.

Calculation of winnings will be based on the official Nite Hunt records of the UKC following the completion of the calendar year in which the points were earned. UKC must be notified of any check disputes within 90 days of the date listed on the check. Any notifications after 90 days will not be considered. Subsequent corrections of hunt results, for any reason, will not affect calculation of winnings. All winnings are subject to Internal Revenue Service rules and regulations pertaining to withholding of tax and the reporting of earnings. Any payout checks, which are less than $10, will not be issued, and those monies will revert back to the Performance Program Fund. UKC is required by Federal Law to obtain Social Security numbers for individuals receiving monies exceeding the amount of $600. For tax purposes, W-9’s will be sent to payee/(s) by January 31 of the year following the Performance Fund Payout. Checks issued for dogs registered with established partnerships prior to January 1, 2013 will be made out in both the owner’s names. Checks issued for dogs registered on or after January 1, 2013 will be made out in the name of the Sole Signatory only. The tentative payout date will be March 15th of the following year.

UKC must be notified of any undelivered or missing checks within six months of the issuance date. If the participant requests that a new check be issued, a stop payment fee may apply. All unclaimed checks will revert back to the Performance Program Fund if they are not claimed within six months of the issuance date. Any notifications to UKC after six months will not be considered.

Payout checks will be void 90 days from the date of issuance listed on the check.

Barred or Suspended Individuals
If the registrant of a UKC-registered Coonhound is barred or suspended from UKC, he/she shall be ineligible to participate in the Performance Program for the entire period of the barring or suspension. All Performance Points earned by a dog owned or co-owned by a person who is barred or suspended during the calendar year shall be forfeited. Dogs owned or co-owned by a person who is barred or suspended will become eligible to earn Performance Points upon the date of reinstatement of the barred or suspended owner or co-owner. In the event such a dog is sold to an owner or co-owner who is eligible to participate in the program, the dog will remain ineligible to earn Performance Points until January 1 of the year following the suspension or barring of the previous owner(s). Any monies earned by barred or suspended individuals will be reverted back to the Performance Program Fund.

If a Performance Sire is barred for fighting, they may continue to breed as long as all requirements, set by the Hunting Programs Department, have been met.

Dispute Resolution
All disputes arising out of the application or interpretation of any rules or conditions of the UKC Performance Program will be decided by the Performance Program Review Board at United Kennel Club, Inc.

UKC Reserved Powers
UKC reserves the right to alter the conditions of all or part of the Performance Program as it, in its sole discretion, determines to ensure fairness and equality to all participants. Further, at its sole discretion, UKC may cancel the Performance Program at any time and refund money if it deems Coonhound participation is insufficient to justify continuing the Performance Program. UKC reserves the right to randomly request a DNA profile on any dog in the Performance Program at the cost of the Registrant(s)/Signatory to ensure the accuracy of UKC records. Failure to comply with DNA testing may result in suspension or barring.

Ineligible Participants
An entrant is ineligible to participate in the Performance Program where prohibited by law because of legal residence, sites of approved UKC Licensed events, or any other basis, and all of the prohibited portion of earned points or purse money will be disregarded in calculations for an earned portion of the Performance Program.
