UNITED KENNEL CLUB ANNOUNCES NESTLÉ PURINA AS THE OFFICIAL SPONSOR OF ALL MAJOR UKC BEAGLE EVENTS
KALAMAZOO, MICH. February 4, 2014 – United Kennel Club Inc., the world’s largest all breed performance dog registry, is pleased to announced Nestlé PURINA as the official sponsor of four major UKC Beagle events and the All-Star Series and National All-Star Chase for the 2014 calendar year.
Performance Pack Nationals kicks off the Beagle event calendar, followed by Hunting Beagle Nationals, Hunting Beagle World Championship, and Performance Pack World Championship. The All-Star Series is an ongoing points race, divided into four separate regions, based on cumulative cast wins throughout the calendar year. The National All-Star Chase is a three-event runoff with a distinguished field of hounds made up of the previous year’s All-Star Series regional finalists. The UKC Beagle events are designed to as closely simulate an actual hunt as possible. Dogs compete, sometimes individually and sometimes in a group depending on the event, for points towards Championship and Grand Championship titles. All UKC Hunting Program Events are designed around a family atmosphere where owners are encouraged to handle their own dog. In accordance with UKC Rules and Regulations, no game is taken and no firearms are permitted.
Purina’s decision to become the official sponsor of UKC Beagle events serves to expand an already successful relationship enjoyed between the two organizations, as Purina has enthusiastically supported UKC events for several decades. Nestlé Purina PetCare promotes responsible pet care, community involvement and the positive bond between people and their pets.
With the involvement of partners like Purina, UKC strives to encourage healthy competition as a means to an overall better quality of life for dogs and their owners. For complete details about UKC Beagle events, and all UKC licensed events, please visit www.ukcdogs.com.
