NEWS RELEASE
| Kalamazoo, Michigan – United Kennel Club, Inc. President Wayne Cavanaugh and National Shoot-to-Retrieve Association President Joe “Butch” Jackson signed an agreement this week to affiliate the two well respected organizations. As a result, UKC will now officially recognize NSTRA Champion titles on UKC Pedigrees and will issue Championship degrees to the owners of those dogs earning a title. Additionally, those dogs previously registered by NSTRA will now be officially registered with UKC. United Kennel Club’s V.P. of Hunting Programs, Todd Kellam, had this to say, “This is one of those situations where everyone wins. We are so happy to be working with such an established and well-respected pointing dog program as NSTRA”. The National Shoot-to-Retrieve Association was founded in 1978 and has grown to include 30 NSTRA Regions and members in the lower 48 States and Canada. They were most currently not affiliated with a National Registry. “This is a huge step for us in recognizing both, the abilities of some very talented bird dogs, and, the efforts and dedication of a great group of gun dog enthusiasts”, said NSTRA V.P. Scott Townsend. | National Shoot-to-Retrieve Association President Joe "Butch" Jackson and United Kennel Club, Inc. President Wayne Cavanaugh |
