UNITED KENNEL CLUB News Release

UKC Announces the End of an Era

For more information contact sherbert@ukcdogs.com

October 15, 2014. Kalamazoo MI. One of the longest-running, dog oriented magazines in the United States, BLOODLINES Dog Event News (originally published as BLOODLINES) will cease publication effective December 31, 2014.

BLOODLINES was established 109 years ago, in 1905, by the first owner of UKC, Chauncey Bennett, and has been in continual publication since its first issue hit the presses. Initially, all UKC recognized breeds were featured, until 1974, when COONHOUND BLOODLINES was first introduced as an offshoot of the original magazine.

BLOODLINES Dog Event News has gone through many changes throughout the years. This most recent development was decided upon as the majority of the magazine content also appears on the UKC website, ukcdogs.com, and will continue to be accessible there.

The final issue will be the February 2015 issue. All current subscribers will be contacted via mail with any instructions regarding their status by the end of this year.

NOTE: The dissolution of Bloodlines Dog Event News is not associated with Coonhound Bloodlines. They are two separate magazines. Coonhound Bloodlines will continue to be published.
