Record Advanced Entry Suggests Big Crowd at Batesville
Posted on 01/11/2013 in Coonhounds.
If the advanced nite hunt entry numbers are any indication we expect a large crowd on hand this year for the UKC Winter Classic in Batesville. A record number of 885 advanced entries were received by the January 5th deadline. The previous record, dating back to 2002, was 822. The number entered this year is significantly more than we would have ever expected and area clubs have quickly stepped up to the plate in an effort to accommodate all the hunters. This includes the East Arkansas Coonhunters Association in Marianna who will now also be offering a pool of guides for the event on both nights.
The UKC could not be more pleased with each owner that has shown their support with an entry to one of UKC's longstanding premier events. A special thanks to each one! We look forward to a good entry for the bench shows as well. The folks at Batesville are excited about the opportunity to accommodate a coonhound event of this magnitude and have their welcome mats at the doorstep for all those planning to attend. We wish everyone a safe trip and look forward to seeing everyone there.
