KALAMAZOO, MICHIGAN. December 20, 2012 - Beginning January 1, 2013 the process by which UKC issues Temporary Listing (TL) numbers to clubs will be changing. These changes are needed to help the UKC Dog Events department keep more accurate records and exercise greater control over how the numbers are disseminated. The following should have no impact on anyone who wishes to purchase a TL number in order to compete with their dog(s). These processes will only affect the UKC clubs approved to sell TL numbers.

Beginning January 1, 2013 approved clubs will receive a minimum of 50 TL numbers to create a “TL bank” when the event reports are sent to UKC, Dog Events will count the number of TL’s sold at that event and issue additional numbers to the approved clubs to replace the numbers sold. This ensures the club will always be able to maintain at least 50 numbers in their TL Bank. This procedure does not change anything regarding the actual sale of a TL number. The exhibitor will still need to fill out the TL application form which UKC will continue to provide to clubs.

No provisional club may be approved to sell TL numbers. TL numbers may only be sold by fully licensed UKC clubs. Provisional clubs that may fall under the old policies and are already selling TL numbers may continue to do so.

TL numbers may no longer be transferred from one club to another or to individuals, including Event Advocates and Event Managers. Numbers are assigned only to UKC clubs, Event Advocates and Event Managers and are issued on an individual basis.

TL numbers may only be sold at a UKC licensed event in which the sale of TL numbers has been advertised in UKC’s upcoming events, Bloodlines Magazine and any official announcement of the club’s event.

We hope you will all help us be able to continue to offer this wonderful service by implementing these changes. Please do not hesitate to contact the Dog Events department at conformation@ukcdogs.com or performance@ukcdogs.com if you have any questions or need clarification of any sort.
