Joyce has worked at UKC a little over two years, but was here for 11˝ years prior to that before her husband’s job in the Navy sent their family elsewhere. When Todd Kellam heard that Joyce’s family was moving back to Michigan, as her husband was then retiring from the Navy, he contacted Joyce to see if she was interested in working at UKC again. She jumped at the chance.
At work on a regular day, Joyce says, “I license and confirm events, search for dates for clubs, license judges, record wins from reports, issue degrees, and travel to events when necessary. I love dealing with the clients but also love working with our department as we have a great team and work well together.”
Before coming back to UKC two years ago, Joyce worked at the Kadena Air Force Base Animal Clinic in Okinawa, Japan. She has two English Bulldogs, a Shar-Pei and a Great Dane at home but does not compete with them. Joyce and her husband are season ticket holders for the K-Wings hockey team, and she participates in 5Ks once a month with her daughter, Ashley.
“I love how clients are able to gain access to forms off the website and how there are videos from the major events, as clients are always asking about them,” Joyce said.
