Handlers, Judges and event staff gather for pre-event directions on an overcast morning in Muscatine, Iowa. A stiff wind along with below freezing temps made things a bit on the brisk side until you got started walking fields.

Zues steady on point with Judge Gunther looking on as gunner levels down on the bird. Zues' effort was rewarded by a Pass With Honor.

The Open Brace that had both Judge Gunther and Lefebvre making honorable comparisons to what they would see in France paired Topperlyn Gallant Bodacious and Glen Gunderson (right) against Valdemar De Winterhaven and Russell Winter. Though the morning was marked with cold temperatures and a stiff breeze, the Open Braces worked well. The points were staunch and most brace mates backed with good manners.

One of the two fields used for the liberated trial on Friday featured a cargo trailer with a heater. Women, kids and the UKC staff braved the spring conditions as some of the CEB-US more elderly handlers warm up during lunch.
