04/09/2010: Out On A Limb – AprilWell, my hunting season is over for this year and I’m already looking forward to next season. I guess that probably describes most every squirrel hunter. It’s time now to catch up on the honey-do list, enjoy the spring time gardening and especially some summertime fishing. The spring turkey season is in full swing here in Alabama and we are not able to have our dogs out during the daylight hours.
03/09/2010: Out On A Limb – MarchI hope everyone’s hunting season has gone well this year. Mine has been fairly good so far. As I’m writing this column it is the first of February and I’m looking forward to my hunting in the month ahead. I went this afternoon and I think my dog tried to walk me to death. She was changing zip codes between trees.
02/09/2010: Out On A Limb – FebruaryThe month of February is upon us and for many it means that small game hunting is in full blast. Here in Alabama, deer season was over January 31, and small game hunting continues through February 28. This is when most squirrel hunters get to hunt land that was forbidden while deer season was in.
01/09/2010: Out On A Limb – JanuaryWow! I can’t believe the year 2009 has gone. It seemed just a couple of months ago I was writing the January ‘09 column and letting everyone know that my New Year’s resolution was to go on a diet. The bad thing is the diet (might) have lasted to the first of February if you don’t count the weekends. This year I’m not even going to try to make one.
